Weight Control: Why do we need to do it?
Controlling your weight through science, diet, and exercise has been shown to help you live longer and protect you from type 2 diabetes, heart disease, stroke and high blood pressure.
Obesity is rampant in our society today and, as a result, our society's life expectancy has been dropping. It is apparent that if you control your weight, you can control your future. What you should look for in a weight loss program is one that incorporates a healthy balanced eating diet with a routine of exercise. Do not do any starvation type diets, they just make your body more efficient at storing fat. Slow and steady weight loss is the key.
At one point in my life I weighed over 250 lbs. Through a slow and steady program I lost all that excess weight and kept it off. A few years back I was privileged to be asked to demonstrate all of the simple exercises in a book on weight control. The title of the book is: The Best Red Book on Weight Control or How to Slim Down & Get Fit Without Starving or Overexerting Yourself. Here's a picture of me on the back cover.
This is not a diet book. It is however, an informative book that will help you design your own weight control program by making minor changes in your eating and exercise habits.
