 Water

 

Did you know:

That our bodies are mostly made up of water?  Anywhere from 55% and 60% depending on our:

·        Age (the younger a person the higher the percentage, babies have 75%)

·        Sex, (men have a higher percentage of water)

·        Body composition (fat vs lean)

Most people are dehydrated.  It’s essential that we constantly wash the toxins from our cells by having a sufficient amount of water intake to also hydrate and move lymph.

Water is the primary transporter of nutrients throughout the body and is essential in carrying waste from it.  Water is involved in nearly every bodily process. 

To avoid dehydration the body requires a minimum of between two to three liters of water per day. The exact amount will depend on things like:

·         The humidity

·         The temperature

·         The amount of activity that the body is doing 

Most of the water that we take in comes from the food and beverages we eat rather than from straight water. That’s why eating organic fruit’s and vegetables are essential!

But all water is not created equal and expensive bottled water is not necessarily better for you.

The Dr. Otto Warburg Story

In 1931 Dr. Otto Warburg won the Nobel Prize for showing that cancer thrives in anaerobic (without oxygen), or acidic, conditions. In other words, the main cause for cancer is acidity of the human body. Disease can not survive in an Alkaline Body, Only drink Ionized Alkaline Water.

Indeed the Alkaline state of the body was found to be resistant to many a common ailment


 But how do you get an alkaline body (opposite of acidic)?  Easy, start by drinking alkaline water and eating primarily Alkaline food.   

 Let me tell you what happened to my family and myself with our first introduction to Alkaline water. I had been studying it for a while and when I found out that there was a retreat near me that sold Alkaline water, I called a family meeting (BTW, my family hate it when I call a “family meeting” because that’s code for they are going to be talked into trying some new health thing!).

I told them I was going to buy two cases of Alkaline water and WE where going to drink it over the weekend to see what, if anything happens. My Mom and I drove out and started drinking it around noon on a Friday. By that following Monday at noon, my Mom had dropped 4 lbs. I had dropped 6 lbs and other family members had dropped as much as 8 pounds! A testament as to how much toxins a body has and how quickly they can be gotten rid of.

Where do you get Alkaline water?

There are a few bottled waters on the market that claim they are Alkaline (Like Volvic if you can find it and I believe Fugi is slightly higher in Alkalinity) but the best and cheapest is to buy your own Alkaline water machine. If you think about it, you will be drinking water for the rest of your life.

Why not put the best, most helpful, healthy ingredients in your body to help it be the healthiest it can?


I couldn’t buy an Alkaline water machine fast enough! My family and I have been drinking Alkaline water since the middle of 2007. Other than losing several pounds, I noticed that my skin became very soft and smooth.  Knowing that we have an edge of keeping our body in the state of Alkaline, for better health, is what we are trying to accomplish.

The type of water you drink is just as important as how much you drink, when you drink it and how much you drink it at a time.  In my family we drink Alkaline water at regular intervals all day long.

Another cool trick I learned about drinking water…

In my adventures in seeking the best health, I learned that most people drink water either:

·        When they are thirsty

·        They see the water bottle

Usually when they see it, they have a tendency to drink gulp after gulp with force, speed and volume (sound familiar?). That is tough for the body to really acquire the water it needs and it sends you running to the bathroom more often.

It’s the difference between watering your garden with a high pressure fireman’s water hose and a sprinkler can. 

I got into the habit of setting a kitchen timer for 30 minutes.  Every 30 minutes when it went off, I would re-set it, drink ONLY 2 to 3 ounces of water and forget about it till next time. 

That way I was assured that I was getting the water I needed, it was a small amount and it was going in slowly.  I’m hydrating my body without having to run to the bathroom every 15 minutes and without having to think about it.
